Hibiscus Tea Ranch Water

Tequila · Built Tall glass over ice
Deep red hibiscus ranch water over ice with a salted rim, lime wheel, and hibiscus flower

Floral, low, and very cold. This is the jug drink for a hot afternoon, and the colour alone does half the hosting for you.

How it goes
  1. Brew the hibiscus tea strong, sweeten with agave now if you are using it, and chill it completely.
  2. In a jug, combine the tequila, tea, and lime.
  3. Top with the sparkling water just before serving so it keeps its life.
  4. Serve over plenty of ice with a lime wheel.

Make it yours

  • No alcohol: leave out the tequila and it is a gorgeous hibiscus lime soda that deserves its own glass.
  • Salt the rims if your crowd leans margarita.

Between us

Make the tea the night before. Everything else happens in the two minutes before people arrive.

Enjoy your thyme.

When the season turns, I write you a letter.

One short note when the menu changes: what’s ripe, what I’m cooking, and a few things worth gathering people around. Nothing else.
